Photo left shows one of the buildings not directly used in the production of the black blasting powder. Probably used for maintenance as all wooden structures impregnated with powder were destroyed when DuPont eventually closed the mills in 1949. Spot the horse, the cow and the pickup truck? |
| Building at right is of the wash room/showers near the entrance of the grounds. To the immediate right of photo is the main gate and guard shack. Workers were checked daily for matches and no metal could be worn on their clothes or shoes. Later used as hog confinement. It has now burned to the ground approx year 2000. |

Photo left shows the boiler room as it stood in 1970. A previous picture you saw on this web site showed this wall completely collapsed. |
| At right is one of the shipping boxes used for black powder pellets. The boxes were made on the mill grounds. |

Another photo from the early 1970's. Since burned down, but was located on "Cinder Lane" near the entrance and to the left of the main gate and guard house. In later years was used as the Izaak Walton League Club House. |
